CHICAGO Bulletin Board

for building a happier village...where people easily find common interests.

 

This board is a tool for people finding what they share in common – interests, intentions, visions.  A place to connect, share, trade, organize.  All who want to build this happier village are welcome.

We can have a new Chicago west side by recognizing that time is money.  And by organizing to use this currency. 
 
In our community, money talks, and dollars are increasingly scarce.  We don't need to be stopped.  Using time as money helps organizations collaborate with one another and empower their clients.  It can empower us all and bring us all closer to one another.

Many of our big problems - locally & nationally - are caused by money. Eg, poverty, jobs disappearing, environment, and growing inequality.  

Money is also a simple, pragmatic solution, but a new (and ancient) money based on time.  

Here's how it works.  When I help you for an hour, I credit my account for that hour and debit yours.  The hour I just earned helping you I can spend by asking someone to help me.  The hour you owe you can clear by helping someone.

We are organizing time exchanges within churches, not-for-profits, and umbrella...

I want to let you know that my Dad, Jack Barclay (416 N Grove), passed away on May 30th.  

A Memorial Service will be held for him on July 8th, 11am, at the Woodside Bible Chapel, Chicago Ave & 1st Ave, Maywood.
